As I mentioned in my previous post , access WAP (WAP options and packages) allow HTTP, HTTPS and WAP. HTTPS uses SSL (or TLS) to encrypt data, and as the protocol layer of SSL / TLS is between those of TCP and HTTP, all information and data is encrypted HTTP and therefore invisible to the network of operator, including the user-agent. Which means it can connect to any secure site (HTTPS) from their PC or PDA via its WAP mobile (as explained in the tutorials with PC and with PDAs ) without changing its user-agent! For example connections to sites of bank account management (eg https://particuliers.secure.lcl.fr), secure webmail (eg https://login.live.com), etc. ... This also explains the possibility of establishing an SSL VPN via WAP-enabled mobile without them being rejected.

Indeed, if the SFR Illimythics packages allow unlimited access to all WAP and Web sites (not just to the WAP portal SFR Vodafone Live!) From their mobile, they use the access point wapsfr and WAP proxy, which block browsers other than mobiles. But with some manipulation it is possible to "hide" the browser "PC" favorite (IE or Firefox) browser in "mobile" and not be blocked, and then surf unlimited calls from your PC! |
