This tutorial has been updated: you will find the new version on the dedicated page:
http://www.hautdebitmobile.fr/tutoriaux/acces-web-sur-pc-via-mobile-gprswap/
This article describes how to access the Web-HTTP (S) - on a Windows PC via a mobile WAP access.
You need to have:
- A mobile connected to PC with a USB cable, with the relevant drivers installed
- An option package or WAP for your mobile (ex: option VodafoneLive 1H, Pro Unlimited WAP access, etc. ..)
- Have sufficient rights to your Windows profile to create a login and change your web browser
The first step is to create a Dial-Up (RAS) on the PC using the mobile GPRS modem, then it will change the "User Agent" web browser, then configure the proxy.
Step 1 - Creating the connection for remote access to the PC
Start by connecting your phone to your PC with the USB cable, then go to the manager of network connections, and start the New Connection Wizard:
- Click Next
- Select "Business Connection"
- Then "Dial-Up Connection"
- In the list of devices to select, check the modem of your mobile data:
- In "Name", enter the desired name for your connection, such as "Web via GPRS SFR"
- In "Phone Number", type * 99 #
- Indicate if you want to make this connection for all users of the PC or even just your
- Finish by possibly creating a shortcut to the connection on the desktop
- The login window launches, click on Properties
- Go to the Options tab, and uncheck "Prompt for name and password ..." and "Ask a telephone number"
- In the tab "Networking", uncheck all the network components except "Internet Protocol (TCP / IP)"
- Validate
Step 2 - Change the "user agent" of the Web browser
- Firefox
With Firefox, the easiest is to use the extension "User Agent Switcher":
- Download the latest version on the author's page or on the website of Mozilla extensions .
- Install the extension and restart Firefox
- Go to Tools> User Agent Switcher> Options> Options, then User Agents:
- Click Add and enter a fictional user_agent, version, platform, etc. ...
- Internet Explorer
With IE, the small executable "Mask IE" Ayad Tariq ideal.
- Download the latest version projectdistributor.net here (it's a zip file)
- Unzip the zip file and run the executable "Mask IE.exe"
- Click on "Manage User-Agent" in the box enter a user-agent string identifying a browser mobile (eg SonyEricssonW850i/R1ED Browser/NetFront/3.3 Profile/MIDP-2.0 Configuration/CLDC- 1.1) and click on "Add", then "Preferred" to activate
Step 3: Configure the Web Proxy / WAP Operator
It remains only to indicate in your Web browser (IE, Firefox, ...) the proxy of the mobile operator:
Orange: 192.168.10.100
SFR: 195.115.25.129
Bouygues: 62.201.137.17
Start the connection created in step 1, once connected, you can access the Web!

Hello
What about limitations? Volume / duration / sessions?
The solution I use now is an orange with the option mobicarte surf that officially allows only surfing on the portal Orange World, informally on all http (port 80). I did not change the user agent.
To get access to other sites I also agree with a multimedia discovery option, helping to eliminate the eventual non-HTTP content on a page (eg https) are liquidation accounts and costs data was 0.15euros the 10k ...
But not even the means of having something to do with unlimited http + https.
What is it with sfr? Is it possible to take such an offer mobicarte allowing this? In which case I'd be interested ..
Mikael.

Hi Michael,
In fact the limitations of volume and / or durations of data connections depend on each package ...
To access your mobicarte Orange, you can access http with your PC? That would mean that Orange clears surfing filter the user agent of browsers ...
To limit the HTTP with SFR, their latest packages and Pass Pass Surf Surf 2.0 gives unlimited access to their Vodafone Live! Qq + MB for all other WAP and Web sites. Furthermore, the use of mobile as a modem to surf with a PC is possible after request (not necessary in this case the tips of my article!).
I hope it will help a bit!

Hello,
I'm looking for a solution like that for quite some time to enjoy my unlimited connection sfr wap on my laptop (just the bowl of mini tidal opera).
I have a Nokia 6680 (Package pro sfr advantage "multimedia unlimited") and an Asus G1S connected via Bluetooth or cable data,
I followed the steps of this tutorial but there are a worry after registration of the computer on the network ... the logo flashes on my 3G phone but I get an "Error 734" The link control protocol PPP has been stopped.
Thank you in advance for your help and long life HautDebitMobile.fr!

hello Fry
Try this adjustment:
- Selects the RAS connection "Web via GPRS EN" (or the name you gave) on your PC
- Right click> Properties
- Network Management tab
- Under the list of "Types of servers ...." (Choice PPP): Parameters
- Untick the 3 choices (LCP, compression, multiple bonds)
Do not hesitate to let me know!

Hi Alex
To answer your first question, the parameters of the user agent to indicate the "User Agent Switcher" is not (néssairement) those of your mobile, but they agreed with a mobile Web Proxy / WAP operator. Any user agent of a mobile market must agree, like the Sony Ericsson W850i I give an example with Mask.
When the risk of overcharging, Illimythics your package allows you unlimited surfing on the Vodafone Live!, All WAP site and all web sites, therefore no risk.
You mention "wapsfr" and "websfr" which are the two main NPC SFR, which do you use with your package Illimythics?

Hi Alex
Thus a priori your mobile with preconfigured settings "standard" WAP / Web (APN "wapsfr" and WAP proxy / Web).
Regarding the unlimited surfing on WAP sites other than VodafoneLive portal and websites, look at the "*" in your package Illimythics, it seems that there are restrictions (limited volume?).
So in the end you should be able to surf on your PC via your mobile with the settings I mentioned in the tutorial!

hello lucmyl,
This message indicates an error either in the negotiation of multiple bonds (the famous Multilink PPP), or in the authentication (password).
I have never tested with Orange, but try changing the authentication mode: In the connection properties, Security tab, either "default" and "allow password unsecured" or "advanced" and "no encryption" or "optional encryption" and tick all the choices from the list "allow these protocols" ....
Good luck!

must be programmed on this with the username and password and enter the No. +33613000010 instead of # 99 *
connection s'effecue carefree ...
SFR WAP GSM
Connects to: Internet
Telephone: +33613000010

Hi Frederic
Note that you mention the solution describes a CSD connection mode (using the "channels" voice) and non-packet mode (GPRS data channels). So if you connect with the parameters that you indicate (No. 33613000010 etc. ...) it'll count down voice calls, instead of using your GPRS WAP Flatrate!
Do you follow the tutorial updated (http://www.hautdebitmobile.fr/tutoriaux/acces-web-sur-pc-via-mobile-gprswap/)?
Do you put the modem initialization command (+ GTDCONT = 1, "IP", "wapsfr")?
Otherwise try changing the options in the properties of the connection, the Networking tab (LCP extension, etc ...).
Good luck!
Eric
