This tutorial has been updated, you will find the new version on the dedicated page:
http://www.hautdebitmobile.fr/tutoriaux/acces-web-sur-pc-via-mobile-gprswap/
This article describes how to access the Web-HTTP (S) - on a Windows PC via a mobile WAP access.
You need to have:
- A mobile connected to PC with a USB cable, with the corresponding drivers installed
- An option package or WAP for your mobile (eg option vodafonelive 1H, Pro Unlimited WAP access, etc. ..)
- Sufficient rights to your profile to create a Windows login and change your Web browser
The first step is to create a connection for remote access (RAS) on the PC using the GPRS modem of the mobile, then it will change the "User Agent" Web browser, and then configure the proxy.
Step 1 - Create the dial-up connection on the PC
Start by connecting your phone to your PC with the USB cable, then go to the manager of network connections, and start the New Connection Wizard:
- Click Next
- Select "Connect to corporate network"
- Then "Remote Access Connection"
- In the device list to select, check the modem of your mobile data:
- In "Company Name", enter the desired name for your connection, such as "Web via GPRS SFR"
- In "Phone", put * 99 #
- Whether you want to make this connection available to all users of the PC or only yourself
- Finish by creating a shortcut to eventually connect to the desktop
- The login window launches, click Properties
- Go to the Options tab, and uncheck "Prompt for name and password ..." and "Request a phone number"
- In the "Networking", remove all network components except "Internet Protocol (TCP / IP)"
- Confirm
Step 2 - Changing the "user agent" of the Web browser
- Firefox
With Firefox, the easiest way is to use the extension "User Agent Switcher"
- Download the latest version of the page author or the site of Mozilla extensions .
- Install the extension and restart Firefox
- Go to Tools> User Agent Switcher> Options> Options, then User Agents:
- Click Add and enter a fictional user_agent, version, platform, etc ...
- Internet Explorer
With IE, the small executable "Mask IE" Ayad Tariq is perfect.
- Download the latest version projectdistributor.net here (it's a zip file)
- Unzip the zip file and run the executable "Mask IE.exe"
- Click on "Manage User Agents" in the box enter a User-Agent string for identifying a browser "mobile" (eg SonyEricssonW850i/R1ED Browser/NetFront/3.3 Profile/MIDP-2.0 Configuration/CLDC- 1.1) and click on "Add", then "Preferred" to activate
Step 3: Configure the Web proxy / WAP Operator
It only remains to indicate in your Web browser (IE, Firefox, ...) the proxy of the mobile operator:
Orange: 192.168.10.100
SFR: 195.115.25.129
Bouygues: 62.201.137.17
Initiate the connection created in step 1, once connected, you can access the Web!

Hello,
What about the limitations? Volume / duration / sessions?
The solution I use now is an orange mobicarte surf with the option that allows only officially surfing on Orange World portal, informally at all sites http (port 80). I did not change the user agent.
To access other sites I also agree with the option multimedia discovery that will prevent any non-HTTP content on a page (eg https) are counting at a rate 0.15euros the 10kb data ...
But until then no way to have something to do for unlimited http + https.
What with sfr? Is it possible to take an offer for this type mobicarte? In which case I would be interested ..
Mikael.

Hello Michael,
In fact the limitations of volume and / or data connections times depend on each package ...
To access your mobicarte Orange, accessed by http you with your PC? This would mean that Orange allows surfing in the filter browser user-agent ...
To limit the HTTP with SFR, their latest packages and Pass Pass Surf Surf 2.0 gives unlimited access to their Vodafone Live! Qq + MB for all other Web and WAP sites. In addition the use of mobile as a modem to surf with a PC is possible after request (in this case not need tips of my article!).
I hope it will help a little!

Hello,
I'm looking for a solution like this for quite some time to take advantage of my unlimited wap sfr connection on my laptop (a little bowl of the tidal opera mini).
I have a Nokia 6680 (pro sfr benefit package "multimedia unlimited") and an Asus G1S connected via Bluetooth or data cable,
I followed the steps of this tutorial but there is a concern after the registration of the computer on the network ... the 3G logo flashes on my phone but I get an "Error 734" The link control protocol PPP was arrested.
Thank you in advance for your help & HautDebitMobile.fr long life!

hello Fry,
Try this setting:
- Select the connection RAS "Web via GPRS FR" (or whatever name you gave it) on your PC
- Right click> Properties
- Networking tab
- In the list of "Server Types ...." (Choice PPP) Parameters
- Clear the 3 choices (LCP, compression, multi-link)
Do not hesitate to let me know!

Hi Alex,
To answer your first question, the User Agent parameters to indicate in the "User Agent Switcher" are not (néssairement) those of your mobile, but those of a proxy accepted by the mobile Web / WAP operator. Any user agent of a mobile market has to be agreed, such as the Sony Ericsson W850i that I give an example with Mask.
When the risk of billing, your plan allows you to Illimythics unlimited surfing on the Vodafone Live!, All WAP sites and all sites, so no risk.
You mention "wapsfr" and "websfr" which are the two main camera SFR, which do you use with your package Illimythics?

Hi Alex,
So your phone is a priori preset with "standard" WAP / Web (APN "wapsfr" proxy and WAP / Web).
Concerning the unlimited surfing on sites other than the WAP portal vodafonelive and websites, looking out the "*" Illimythics your package, it seems that there are restrictions (limited volume?).
So in the end you should be able to surf on your PC via your mobile with the settings I mentioned in the tutorial!

Hello lucmyl,
This message indicates an error either in the negotiation of multiple bonds (the famous multilink PPP) or in authentication (password).
I never tested with Orange, but try changing the authentication mode: In the Connection Properties, Security tab, either "default" and "allow password insecure" or "advanced" and "no encryption" or "optional encryption" and check all of the list "allow these protocols". ...
good luck!

Hello Frederic,
Please note that you quote the solution describes a mode connection CSD (use of "channels" voice) and non-packet mode (GPRS data channels). So if you connect with the settings that you specify (No. 33613000010 etc ...) it'll count down voice calls, instead of using your WAP GPRS flat rate!
Do you follow the tutorial updated ( http://www.hautdebitmobile.fr/tutoriaux/acces-web-sur-pc-via-mobile-gprswap/ )?
Do you put the modem initialization command (+ GTDCONT = 1, "IP", "wapsfr")?
If not try to change the options in the properties of the connection, the Networking tab (extension LCP, etc ...).
good luck!
Eric

Hi Fran,
This type of error happens when the connection is attempted with another modem, check the properties of the connection that the correct modem is selected (see step 1 of the tutorial).
good luck!

Hello Jacques,
It may have been a download error (file incomplete?), I just tested at the moment, the downloaded file (Mask IE_1_0_1_0 Release.zip) does contain an executable (maskIE.exe) ...
Try again!

Hi Fran, if you have a walkthrough to your problem does not hesitate to post plz, because I have the same pb, error 619, but I do not set the command (+ GTDCONT = 1, "IP", "wapsfr ")
If KKun has information, I think it's a pb authentication server SFR ...
