In the article " Web Access on PC via mobile GPRS / WAP "in creating the connection" RAS ", instead of a telephone number of the remote access server, the string is * 99 # or * 99 *** 1 # is blank.
What is behind this order? Just a command "AT", as the good old days of dial-up modem (remember, the internet at 56kbps ....).
Indeed your mobile can be used as a GPRS modem and modem like any self-respecting it is possible to send commands to the format "AT"!
Control GPRS connection is:
ATDT * 99 *** <CID>
Where CID is the ID context, ie the identifier of the profile data stored in your mobile GPRS. The data profiles are often called "WAP SFR", MMS SFR ", WAP ORANGE", etc ...
Example with a Sony Ericsson V600i SFR:
Settings> Connections> Comm. data> Data accounts:
WAP GPRS
MMS GPRS
WAP CSD
MMS CSD
WAP Monde CSD
Only the first 2 profiles are data GPRS, the others are in "voice circuits" (Circuit Switched Data).
By selecting the profile "WAP GPRS" and Other> Account Information: This profile ID for an external, so this is a CID.
The command ATDT * 99 *** 1 # is going to launch a GPRS connection using the profile settings CID = 1, ie Profile "WAP GPRS".
In the case where the mobile does not have profile data already set, it is possible to specify these parameters in a modem initialization string.
This is the command:
AT + CGDCONT = 1, 'IP', 'APN' where 1 is the CID, the IP protocol to use the camera and GPRS access point.
You can find the settings under "Settings operators" of the GPRS page .
