The configuration of the WAP access (and Web) on a mobile can be done simply via the websites of the operators and the sending of an SMS configuration.
But it may be interesting to manually configure the WAP access and understand its parameters.
First, here are the main parameters of the GPRS (you can find them in the GPRS page of this site) for SFR:
Login Name: SFR GPRS (or SFR WAP GPRS or WAP ...)
Access point name: wapsfr (with an option or websfr web access)
Authentication: none
Username: no
Password: no
Go to the Settings menu, then the Connections tab, select "Comm. Data "and then Data accounts.
If an account "WAP GPRS" or "WAP SFR" or "WAP GPRS" is already present, select it, otherwise create a new one (in this case, select PS data as account type, name the account).
Then enter the following values:
APN wapsfr
Username (no)
Password (none)
Dem. password Off
Allow calls Automatic
No IP address (which corresponds to a request to each IP connection, which is equivalent to DHCP)
DNS address anything (again, the IP addresses of DNS will be obtained dynamically-in-DHCP)
No authentication (that is why it no defect in the blank user name and password, so this is an unauthenticated connection)
Compress Data Off
Compress. Header Off
Then you must configure an Internet profile, the equivalent of the Internet Options of Internet Explorer. The parameters are:
connection via GPRS
HTTP mode
Proxy enabled, IP address: 195.115.25.129, port 8080
username and password blank
In Connections, then select Internet settings Internet profiles, if a profile "Vodafone live!" Is already present, select it, otherwise create a new one.
Press and Other Settings, then enter the following values:
Connect via WAP (GPRS or data account you created)
Internet mode HTTP
Use proxy yes
Proxy address 195.115.25.129
Port number 8080
Username nothing
No password
This is your GPRS / WAP is ready!
Note that the V600i is 3G compatible, if you're on your 3G connection (WAP browsing, downloads) will flow with the 3G instead of those (lower) of GPRS!
This setting will also be used by software applications installed on your mobile (Google Maps, etc ...) that connect to the Web.

Hello,
I discovered a world I never knew existed! I wanted to ask a question (silly). In a few days I will be SFR subscriber illimithics 3H player addict as a toy. However, I read here and there that the package is allowed to connect unlimited WAP, not only to the web ...
The tutorial on the Ericsson is it adaptable to player addict (Opera 9.5) and I will happen to surf the web without blowing my bill?
Thank you.

hello zamdam,
Do not worry: your Omnia will be preconfigured with SFR SFR parameters (APN wapsfr, proxy, etc ...). Otherwise the parameters shown in this tutorial are for general "WAP SFR", so they will be identical, only the presentation will change (vs. Sony Ericsson. Samsung).
good surfing!
Eric
