GPRS
Principle of GPRS
GPRS is an evolution of GSM to improve the data traffic.
The data exchange can occur at higher speeds (up to 115 kb / s instead of 9.6 kbps) and packet (instead of circuit mode), which allows for peak traffic (bursts) and share the bandwidth, instead of a circuit monopolier fixed rate.
Although the PGRS does not require replacement mobile radio equipment (a software update is still required), the handheld must of course be compatible, and new material devoted to data traffic must be installed in the network of operator (such as APN, the SGSN, the GGSN, the WAP proxy / web).
GPRS supports X.25 and IP network protocols: it can carry any connection application "network", so all internet services (and not only WAP), each mobile operator allows only certain internet services and applications, according to his abilities, technical and economic choices, and the option paid by the subscriber.

GPRS Modem AT Commands
Define PDP context
AT + CGDCONT = 1, "IP", "APN" where 1 is the CID, the IP protocol to use the APN and GPRS Access Point.
This command can be used as an initialization string a GPRS modem in the case where the mobile has no GPRS data profiles préparamétré.
Launch of the connection
ATDT * 99 *** <CID>
Where CID is the context ID, ie the identifier of the profile data stored in your GPRS mobile.
