As I mentioned in my previous post , access WAP (WAP options and packages) allow HTTP, HTTPS and WAP. HTTPS uses SSL (or TLS) to encrypt data, and as the protocol layer of SSL / TLS is between those of TCP and HTTP, and all information is encrypted HTTP data and thus invisible to the network of operator, including the user-agent.

This means it can connect to any secure site (HTTPS) from a PC or PDA via its mobile WAP (as explained in the tutorials with the PC and with PDA ) without changing its user agent! For example, the site connection management of bank accounts (eg: https: / / particuliers.secure.lcl.fr), secure webmail (eg: https: / / login.live.com), etc. ...

This also explains the possibility of establishing SSL VPN via a mobile WAP access without them being rejected.

I updated the tutorial Web Access via PC and mobile GPRS / WAP "in fact the proxy is no longer necessary, SFR, and by establishing an SSL tunnel, it is more Only the Web (HTTP, HTTPS) that is accessible, but internet (web, mail, POP & IMAP, VoIP, ....)!

You may have noticed recently by downloading SFR WAP settings: there is no proxy! Until recently, most of the NPC "wapsfr" you had to use the WAP proxy / web surfing on its SFR mobile (or on your PC thanks to the tutorial ), this is no longer necessary.

In addition, the NPC wapsfr limited-and limiting-ever surfing the protocols HTTP, HTTPS and WAP, but using a tunnel (or VPN) SSL and all protocols Internet now spend! This means it is possible to use a POP / IMAP (with Thunderbird or Outlook for example.), To make VoIP, peer-to-peer ...

Check the new version of the tutorial to learn more about all this great news!
