You certainly do backup and data synchronization "PIM" (contacts, calendar / tasks, notes) of your mobile with your PC / Mac, but it is possible to synchronize and back (online) data with a number of online services, including mobical.net .
Indeed most of the mobile "new" are compatible with the SyncML protocol, which is a standard protocol for synchronizing PIM data (the equivalent "standard" Microsoft Active Sync).
First of all you must create an account on mobical.net (free!) to establish connections and "data" (WAP) with a server on the Internet (or WAP connections, such as the option 1H Vodafone Live! SFR).
Then you need to configure your mobile: you can either manually (see bottom of this post the details of the parameters) or ask to send an SMS from the site mobical containing the parameters.
Once your phone is configured, the synchronization command will launch the WAP connection and the sync begins.
One of the big advantages of mobical is that it created a backup copy each time you synchronize, so you can restore your data to a suiet misuse.
In addition, mobical includes a Web interface, which allows you to manage your contacts, calendar and tasks from any Internet access.
You can even configure multiple devices, in fact several "clients" SyncML, and then synchronize multiple sources SyncML compatible mobile, PDA (plugin with SyncML) Outlook and even (always with a plugin)!
good sync!
